His face on the left kills me!! What a stud! Taken May 9th.
This kid is growing like a weed, I wish he would slow down.
First lets talk about how he has been a little Rock Star when it comes to sleeping.
Tuesday Night 9-2. That's 5 hours! Then Wednesday he took a two hour nap with no swing and no one holding him.
Wednesday Night he slept from 9:30 until 4:00 a.m.! Lets count it shall we that is 6 1/2 hours almost 7 hours. At only six weeks old! Like I said rock star! Sadly I didn't go to bed until 11 so I didn't get to enjoy all of those almost 7 hours of sleep. When David went to get him at 4 I was prepping myself for the worst, I said "courtney its ok if it's only 12 or 1 not every night can be amazing." Then I looked at the clock and almost busted into tears of joy! I couldn't believe it was 4 O'Clock. But wait it gets better he then went back to sleep until almost 8. That afternoon he took another two hour nap. This was in the swing but only because we had been out all day and I wanted to make sure he got his sleep.
Thursday Night 10-3. And currently taking a nap unassisted.
These hours are seriously unheard of around here. I've been working so hard with him to set up a routine and set him up for success in sleeping when the time does come for him to fully sleep through the night, and it's working. Halleluiah it's working!
I know that a time will come when there are growth spurts and teething and he will wake up more, and that is fine, but at least for the most part he seems to be getting it and is doing really well. He seems to be understanding the difference between night and day.
Please note I am not some crazy mom trying to get him a strict schedule right away at only 6 weeks, and I go and get him as soon as he wakes up. I understand that a newborn sleeping through the night is considered 5 hours and it will be months before we get all the way as his body and mind need time to mature. I am simply setting him for success so he can recognize when it's time to sleep.
Other news
He fits into his 3 month clothing. Which is actually a really sad day for me because that means he is not a tiny baby anymore. But I am glad we bought a bunch of 0-3 month clothing before he came so I'm not rushing out to get a bunch of things.
He is in the 1 size diapers, that was awhile ago though, maybe two weeks?
He can pretty much hold his head up unassisted.
When I hold him up on his feet he can stand there on his own, meaning I hold him for balance but he's supporting most of his weight.
He laughs and smiles so much now. And is starting to make new noises. All of which I have a million videos of that I need to upload to the blog.

such a cutie. Blessed you are ....
