For Rivers actual birthday on Thursday we kept it pretty low key just the three of us. But we did spoil him with a few gifts and activities. When he woke up his main gift was waiting for him in the living room, a little people farm house. His niece got a little people play house for christmas and absolutely loved playing with it so when it came to picking out his Birthday gift it was a pretty easy choice. And He loved it! The first toy he's ever had that makes noise and plays songs, thank goodness for on and off switches. I try to get him toys where he can use his mind and not just push the button that makes the cow go moo over and over again.

That afternoon we ventured out to the new Aquarium that was just finished with friends and it was busy busy! We were able to sneak up to the front to see those cute otters and penguins. That night when David got home we made some of his favorite foods, opened a few more gifts and cards from grandparents and sang him to sleep for an extra amount of time.

^^ I did a test run of his cake for the party. We gave him a tiny slice and he hardly touched it.^^

 ^^ He got a new swimsuit, mexi rattle, and swim floaty. Rivers and I are ready to have an awesome summer.^^

^^ Attempting his 12 month shot with his bunny, he was very excited and made it impossible to get a good shot. I'm going to try again this week. ^^

Rivers Birthday Party

Rivers actually Birthday was on Thursday so we did his party Saturday morning and served a small breakfast. The goal was to keep it simple and stress free, and while the party itself was fun and stress free the planning and setting up still had it's fair share of stress. Mostly because I was sick the whole week leading up and was unable to get as much done as I wanted. Since the party was at 10 a.m. we wouldn't have much time in the morning to get it set up so we stayed up late Friday night setting up and I woke up early Saturday morning to clean the house and bake the cake. 

We kept the food simple with donuts from my favorite local donut shop and bagels from Einsteins. The kids played while the adults talked, we sang Happy Birthday to Rivers, and we attempted a smash cake but I think all the attention and people were a little much and he refused to touch it. We asked on the invitations that instead of gifts people bring a small donation to donate towards Rivers college fund and we got a good amount of money. All and all it was a success and I'm a little sad it's over because now my baby is official 1.

Happy Birthday my sweet Baby Boy! We love you to the moon and back!

1. A quick b-day breakfast before heading off to the airport. 2. My wonderful friend Annie hung  up her Birthday for me, we stayed at their house the night before and she drove us to the airport. 3. Our Flight. 4. Ready to go. 5. David found a great restaurant for my birthday dinner. A Fancy southern place that served all  your favorite southern cookin but with class. It was delicious. 6.
