The Weekend

Mondays are always bitter sweet, it means the end to a weekend and David going back to work, but it also means I get to hang out with Rivers all day (no problem there) but they are especially more bitter when you've had a fabulous weekend like we just did.

Friday day was actually one of the hardest days I've had with Rivers, I was 100% exhausted and he was being really fussy all morning. After his 6:30 feeding he hardly let me sleep and was always wanting to be held. My mood didn't really help with the situation much either. David came home from lunch to give me a small break and seeing my exhaustion came up with a plan.

That night in my desperate need for sleep and the chance to shower when it's just us two we went to look at swings, and bought one right away. We got Texas Road House to go and came home and watched Grey's Anatomy it was the perfect end to such a long day.  After that David insisted I go to bed but since it was only 9:30 I resisted but eventually gave in. I went to sleep  thinking Rivers would probably wake up in an hour to be fed anyways. However it wasn't until 2 in the morning that David brought him to me, I couldn't  believe it!

David stayed up holding Rivers so he would sleep longer therefore giving me more sleep. 5 hours of sleep! Oh how I needed it, I felt so rested and it was exactly what I needed after such a long week. David is the perfect example of selfless service, I wish I was more like him. He is going to be a great example for Rivers.
Saturday morning David took me to breakfast to a place we've both been wanting to try for awhile called The Park. The first time we tried to go it was closed then the baby came so we never got around to it. We heard they had amazing breakfast so I was really excited to finally be trying it. It definitely lived up to the hype, the food is amazing and the resturant itself is really cute. Plus it's right across the street from one of our favorite parks here, if only it wasn't in Salt Lake I would probably go every week.

We spent a good amount of time in the park and stopped to look at a house for sale (not good) but if we do end up staying here it would be a really fun neighborhood to live in. We then went and got us some limeades, it's been so warm and beautiful the past week and we were parched.

The rest of Saturday we spent at home, Rivers was pretty spent and tired as were we. David took a long nap after his late night party and went to the grocery store for us and Rivers slept in his new swing.

Sunday we ventured out to Sacrament, David had just been going up to this point and since it had almost been a month since I had taken the sacrament I really wanted to go. It was nice to be able to take the sacrament and to do something that was apart of my routine before Rivers came. It made me feel like I was progressing. I think next week we might go the whole time... I'm still nervous to take him around all those kids though. After church we hung out, took another nap and went on a walk. We did a little grilling that night and made a cake. yum!

It was such a perfect weekend I'm sad to see it go, but grateful for the wonderful time we got to spend as a family. I want to enjoy this time we have togther as much as possible because I know it's going to go by way too fast.

Thank you David for being the stellar husband you are and letting me get that extra sleep it has made all the difference in the world, and for getting me a swing. It's been a life saver!

Over The Weekend

One of my new years resolutions (I think my only one) was to take more pictures, I use to document everything like a crazy person and now I've gotten shy about it. No one should be shy about documenting in 2013 it's what this life is all about, instagram, twitter, and now videograms its everywhere. I went this whole weekend with only taking one picture. It's a great picture, but we did so much this weekend and now all I have are the memories in my head.

Friday night we did pizza and a movie at home and it was a great way to end the crazy week we had. I wish every night could be pizza and a movie because A. I love Pizza and B. I love being in my Pj's.

Saturday we went to lunch with Craig (davids bro) and his kids to a place called Moochies which is famous for their meatball and Philly sandwiches. Since I am a fan of neither I got a salami and provolone sandwich with fries and it was amazing. We will be going back and I will document.

On the way to the resturant I felt like I was having period cramps, to which I thought nothing of until my silly brain said Hello Courtney you are pregnant that cannot be the case. Contractions?

After lunch we were going to head home to do some much needed house organizing but decided to stop at this beautiful park and walk around. We probably walked for over an hour the weather was so beautiful it made me so excited for summer and all the bike rides we will go on with our new baby. I kept feeling like my stomach was a little tight but nothing bad.

Sunday we went to Davids sister for dinner and Craig as well. All of which I took zero pictures. After church before heading to Brits it felt really tight but went away, and n the way there it felt like cramps again but went away when we went inside.

Maybe this means baby is coming soon? I woke up this morning and have been having some cramps so we shall see....

This Fine Weekend

This past weekend we were busy little bees. We did the usual Friday night pizza and a movie except it wasn't pizza it was Chick-fil-a and it was a movie it was Greys Anatomy.

Saturday we went to our new temple which looks just like the Rexburg Temple except way more glamorous on the inside. We then went to IKEA.... which took forever like always and pretty much got everything for his bedroom sort of. We went to dinner that night with friends at a cute little cafe in Salt Lake.

Sunday I made blueberry muffins with fresh fruit for breakfast, we helped our friends move in next door, and I cooked dinner for such said friends. Maybe I should say that again I COOKED dinner! It was delicious and actually tasted good!

Pictures of baby room coming soon, its still a very much work in progress but I love to go and sit in there and think of all the things me and baby will do when we he gets here!

Apple Picking

Last Saturday we went to the Apple Orchards on campus to go apple picking in honor of the first day of fall. It was a great way to kick off fall even if it was a little too warm to be wearing boots and a blazer.

I fully intended on using those apples for a pie or caramel apples but that didn't work out. I would love to be able to re-create rocky mountain chocolates caramel apples (sooooo goood) David's parents got us some while we "lived" in Seattle and now I'm hooked.
